At a farm the ratio of cows to horses was 9:2. If there were 72 cows at the farm, how many horses were there?

Let the no. Of horses be x

9÷2 = 72÷x

X= 144÷9
No. Of horses = 16

So to start we need to divide 72 by 9 and you would get 8
Then multiply 2 by eight and you get 16

There are 16 horses.
